"I will be their God—and they shall be My people!" 2 Corinthians 6:16
Psychologists reassure us that the sense of belonging is just as important as food and shelter for survival. Studies indicate that the desire for connection is activated in the same region of the brain that craving food is found. Our Lord gave us this desire as a source of protection and sense of support. He also assures us that the satisfaction in experiencing a sense of belonging is first found in Him. Charles Spurgeon wrote: “What a sweet title, ‘My people!’ What a cheering revelation, ‘Their God!’ How much of meaning is couched in those two words, ‘My people’? The whole world is God's—heaven, even the heaven of heavens is the Lord's, and He reigns among the children of men. But of those whom He has chosen, whom He has purchased to Himself—He calls them especially, ‘My people’. His love provides us with a sense of belonging. GiGi❤️
