![]() ”I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.” (Psalm 119:59) Trust is something that has to be earned. Therefore, building relationships take time. It takes time to learn a person and for them to learn us. Even when you have been in a relationship for a long time you are still learning that person. If you stay in a relationship long enough it will go through changes; trust will be challenged but change is inevitable. Spiritual change has a look because it is chocked full of evidence. Spiritual change is a sustained turn from the old to the new. “Only a changed life is an indicator of a changed heart.” “He answered and said, ‘Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.’” (John 9:25) We can argue and debate about whether someone has changed but spiritual change is definitive. It bears fruit. It has evidence. Even when the flesh takes an individual in the wrong direction, it is the spiritual change, the new heart that corrects and redirects. “It is not enough to say, “Oh, I am converted; I love Jesus Christ,” and then go to his business and cheat as he did before, or resort to his old habits and drink as freely as he did before, or keep company with his former associates and use profane language, as was his previous wont, or act as a worldling acts in following the lusts of the flesh and pursuing the vanities of the age…When the child of God gets out of order with the Lord, his change must be a practical change too. He must not waste himself in regrets, but arouse himself to action. Let him immediately “arise and go to his Father.” The Spirit of God must stir him to action. He must sleep no longer. He must procrastinate no more.” Charles Spurgeon A new heart will compel one to turn the moment we are convicted and we will run to God like the prodigal son and say, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.” Let us pray for one another versus judging. Pray for a changed heart, pray that our friend or loved one will “consider their ways and turn.” Pray too that the Lord will open our own eyes and unstop our ears so that we will do the same. GiGi❤️
