"Neither be ye of doubtful mind."—Luke 12:29
Our Savior bids us see to the condition of our mind: "Neither be ye of doubtful mind." He thus calls our attention to the higher and nobler part of our mind, and bids us see to it that it is in the right state. Up until this very moment he has put things in place so that we are prepared, for such a time as this to exercise our faith. It is the mind which constructs our perspective; how we think will either bring us daylight or midnight, wealth or poverty, peace or war. Charles Spurgeon stated, “I wish, dear friends, that half the time we spend in trying to better our circumstances were spent in bettering ourselves; and that even a tenth of the trouble we take to fit our circumstances to our desires were used in fitting our desires to our circumstances. If we did that, how much happier we could be!” In essence we spend far more time fashioning the outside when it’s the inside that people really see and hear. It is the inside work that will determine whether we will worry and be in distress, or accept our reality and exercise our faith. GiGi❤️
