“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
Sometimes the slightest thing can disrupt our peace. An unkind word, how something was spoken to us, or even a look. But the Word of God provides us with the encouragement we need to maintain our peace. “Ah, how insignificant a matter will mar our peace of mind: some little thing that happened— some trifling incident…may, like dust in your eye, cause you the greatest distress. Such poor creatures we are that we may lose our peace of mind even by a word or a look. If you want to have peace of mind, make God your joy, and place all your joy in God. You cannot rejoice in yourself, but you ought to rejoice in God. You cannot always rejoice in your circumstances, for they greatly vary, but the Lord never changes. ‘Rejoice in the Lord alway.’” Rejoicing in the Lord helps us to maintain focus. Even if we get off kilter, like the groove in a gear, we get back on track again by rejoicing. GiGi❤️
