One of the things that I have been working on is being aware of the words that I use when I speak. I was demonstrating something to one of my daughters yesterday. I approached her, “No, that’s wrong...” I caught myself and corrected it, “This is another way you could do it.” You might think that that is trivial but it isn’t. The Bible is full of scriptures that admonish us to measure our words: “reckless words pierce like swords” (Prov 12:18), “The one with knowledge uses words with restraint” (Prov 17:27), “A soft answer turns away wrath” (Prov 15:1). It is challenging to respond harshly to someone who speaks softly or respectfully. We might not like what was said but it was delivered with such kindness and compassion that we couldn’t resist hearing it. Also, the words we use tend to match our lifestyle. Seldom do you see a foolish person using wise words. I hope you join me today in my effort to have my words match my professed salvation. Words have power! GiGi❤️
