![]() Recognizing our frailties and weaknesses and laying them before God is essential to our walk with God. “The poor man, poor in spirit, conscious of his imperfections and failures, is never a lukewarm man, but with sighs and cries coming out of a heart that is all on fire with a desire to escape out of such a sad condition, he besieges the throne of God that he may obtain more grace.” Since none of us are perfect we must stop living like we think we are. We must admit when we are wrong. We must accept it when we fail. That’s the only way God can perfect us. When we submit who we are to Christ, we learn His grace is sufficient. The church at Laodicea was admonished for having such a high opinion of itself, “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Revelations 3:7,8, KJV) The story of the lukewarm Laodiceans reminds us that we can be saved and still have wretched ways, and not even know it. What is the remedy? Let us make up our minds to give it all to Christ, holding nothing back. Let us choose gold tried in the fire so that the veil can be lifted from our eyes and we can then be on fire for God. GiGi❤️
