![]() Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2 Corinthians 13:5) Self-awareness is a form of self-reflection that prompts us to examine our feelings and emotions and how they impact our lives and the lives of others. It is a level of consciousness that not everyone operates on. Self-awareness is directly related to self-acceptance as it give us the ability to see ourselves and regulate our emotions. In particular, how we treat and communicate with others is enhanced by our ability to accept who we are, the good, bad, and ugly. Self-acceptance leaves very little room for self-judgment. Therefore, if we can accept ourselves, we can more readily forgive ourselves. “For all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) It takes a great deal of time and energy to deny the reality of who we are. Years are wasted and relationships never reach the pinnacle of fulfillment that they could. When we submit those things which are not like Jesus to the Lord, how much more will be able to accept others for who they are, without judgment. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. (1 Corinthians 4:3) Dear Lord, give us spiritual discernment, not just so we can see the hearts of others, but especially Lord so that we can peer into our own hearts. When we see it, help us to accept us, like you have accepted us. Even in our lowest state, you sent your Son to die for us. Thank you for seeing us and still loving us. GiGi❤️
