"Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord."—Exodus 14:13

The believer must endure hardships in this life. Yet, rest assured, the Lord will always show up. Perhaps, he will not do so when we want him to and the way we expect him, but He is always right on time.

It is the flesh that will become weary, dissuaded, desire to throw in the towel, and forget that there is a God. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)

But spiritual growth and maturity awaits those of us who hold on until the end and “endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2 Timothy 2:3)

“It is clear, then, that self must stand out of the way, that there may be room for God to be exalted; and this is the reason, the true secret, why God bringeth his people ofttimes into straits and difficulties, that, being brought to their wits' end, and made conscious of their own folly and weakness, they may be fitted to behold the majesty of God when he comes forth to work their deliverance. A man whose life shall be one even and smooth path, will see but little of the glory of God, for he has few occasions of self-emptying, and hence, but little fitness for being filled with the revelation of God. They who navigate little streams and shallow creeks, know but little of the God of tempests; but they who "go down to the sea in ships, and do business in great waters, these see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep." Charles Spurgeon

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1 Peter 5:10)
