”Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” — Matthew 5:9. There was a big husky, muscular soldier, who had been a prizefighter before he joined the army. After he gave his life to the Lord, some that knew of him mocked him. They considered it impossible that someone as big and strong, having fought so many fights and won, could be a meek and peaceable man, “There’s no way he’s a Christian.” So one day, while in the mess hall, a group of soldiers decided to prove that he wasn’t. One of them threw some scalding soup on him so that everyone could see that he wasn’t saved and was still a fighter. He tore at his clothes to get the hot liquid off of his skin. In the midst of the excitement he spoke out, “I am a Christian, I have to expect this,” and smiled at them. One of the men involved said, “If we thought you were going to respond this way, we would never have done it, “I’m sorry, man.” The prizefighter soldier had rebuked their malice with his peace, and they all said, “He must be a Christian.” Before we can be a peacemaker we must first be at peace, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God,” (Matthew 5:8). First, let us make peace in our own homes and then go out into the highways and bi-ways and be peacemakers. If we confess Christ, let us war no more, lay down our weapons and choose not to speak evil of anyone. Let us lay down our weapons and choose not to return an eye for an eye, or a tooth for a tooth. This is the Lord’s work. How we live will either draw souls to Christ or turn them away. Blessed are the Peacemakers! GiGi❤️
